Katrina (4)

The Google Maps page is updated: if you search for “New Orleans”, you’ll find a new category called “Katrina” – a “before and after” experience with one click. An empty town – just unbelieveable.

Meek. Mild. As If

meek mild as if

My late grandfather used to say: “Jesus was a communist!” — and he meant that as an endorsement. Seems he was not alone.

Got Milk!

Excuse me while I throw up:

A Frenchman who has invented a beer made from fermented milk is selling about 300 bottles of it a week. His recipe is secret, but it combines 75% milk and 25% malt with the culture used to make kefir, a traditional fermented-milk drink in the mountains of the northern Caucasus.

Katrina (3)

“What I’m hearing which is sort of scary is that they all want to stay in Texas. Everybody is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway so this (chuckle) – this is working very well for them.” –Former First Lady Barbara Bush, on the Hurricane flood evacuees in the Houston Astrodome, Sept. 5, 2005
