Idiot Bastard Son Redux

The Idiot Bastard, in conjunction with Cordelia Records, is concocting a pretty cool project:

(…) to produce a CD of 20 different versions of Frank Zappa’s The Idiot Bastard Son to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the release of the album it first appeared on (We’re Only In It For The Money) next January – which also happens to be when The Idiot’s 50th birthday is!

Which reminds me: would you guys be interested in a double/triple/quadruple release of The Voice Of Cheese? Fancy artwork and superior mixing included?

  1. VOC? Are we talking pre-order here?
I know the BFT must consider its futum…

  2. as a contributor to the voice of cheese-(well my contribution comes up soon!) i would be delighted to have the opportunity to buy a copy of the cheese chortlers displayed in a fine funky fashion and mixed by a pro….i am sure i am not alone in this.

  3. Ryan: the online editions wouldn’t stop — to the extent that people continue to submit their tracks obviously, something which has slowed down significantly in recent weeks. There’s currently 11 songs still in the queue which at this point would mean a grand total of about 30 tracks. If I’m going to have that properly mixed and aurally beauty-fied, it’ll have to be a 2 CD package.

  4. Only if there’s fancy artwork from Dr Sharl!

(I would love to purchase lovely artwork in various forms if I wasn’t a musician and….poverty-laden!).
