Another View At ZPZ Brussels Edition

Last post about ZPZ in Brussels, promise! Here’s what they’re thinking about the show over at zappa.com’s tourlog:

Tonight’s show in Belgium was totally amazing. Over 4000 screaming fans packed into the Forest National and the show was spectacular. The band played one of their best shows of the tour thus far. Dweezil was in top form despite finger injury; Steve laid waste with some incredible solos, and Terry, fresh for a few days away from the ZPZ tour, was exceptional.

True, the show was spectacular, but it’s a pity that the sound was really bad. And it’s not just the VN acoustics (it has an echo), it was way too loud as well. Bass drum & bass guitar saturated the sound completely.
Still, I wonder what the band would be rated without Napi, Terry & Steve…

Agreed on the sound issue. They should have chosen the Ancienne Belgique instead of VN. Smaller venue, but then again, the AB would’ve been packed, whereas VN wasn’t filled at full capacity.
As for your second remark: makes you wonder how much of this band is actually Zappa Playing Zappa doesn’t it! :)
