I used to watch satirewire.com for biting commentary such as this, until their demise a couple of years ago. It’s good to know that humor like this still exists…
Moore has an upcoming movie called “Sicko” about the strange “system” of health care in the US. This will seem very odd for Europeans, who mostly have state-supported universal care. Americans believe that sickness is a sign that God doesn’t love you and that sick people should be ashamed of themselves and go die rather than be a burden to others. This strange belief allows private insurance companies to deny care to people who are sick and to provide care only to the healthy. The Clintons tried to offer universal health insurance through private companies and were crucified for trying to do so, mostly due to the insurance companies, who didn’t want to be forced to help sick people.
