  1. Speaking of Imaginary Diseases…

has anyone clicked this or this lately?

“currently not available”??? Has order activity been so overwhelming they are sold out?

  2. The main problem with impeaching Bush is that if it should succeed, then Dick Cheney would become president.

“…after the Revolution, they’ll all be round up and shot…”

  3. Okay but… would Tricky Dick The Second be able/willing (take your pick) to pull the same kind of tricks once he realizes he merely ended up being put into office because The People didn’t like The Strawdog’s tricks in the first place? In a scenario where Bush gets to be impeached, whoever follows up the president spot inbetween elections will (1) have to realize just how vulnerable he is and (2) find himself fully politically impotent to begin with.

You want my opinion; it ain’t gonna happen — but hey: one can dream about this nightmare actually ending. At the least, this kind of bad press can’t but make the NeoCons aware that there is a big big silent yet opposing bunch of voters.

They will lose the vote at some point — if not next time, then the next. And the damage done to the republican party will be huge. And they will have nothing to blame for it but their own tunnel vision.

  4. KZD has a VERY valid point…
Heck, even Reagan was shot at. But not Bush…
    Why? Cheney.
Barry, you know how much I hate Dubya. But – believe me – Cheney would be worse, much worse.
Bush is dangerous because he’s of small mind. Cheney is dangerous because he’s of large mind – large, evil mind. And, if somehow given the power, he would not be impotent. Far too many favors have been done, and are owed…
I’m thankful Dubya’s reign has a limit. We can only hope that whoever comes after will not have Cheney on board.

  5. The dream scenario is: Cheney resigns (Plame ‘affair’); Bush impeached or resigns. Don’t hold your breath, though. Bush deserves impeachment and removal no less than Nixon did, but the odds of a Republican-controlled House of Representitives impeaching Bush are almost nil, and the odds of the Dems regaining control of the House this year are long (not impossible, but long).

Politically active people here in the States like me are a.) concentrating on the upcoming congressional elections, and b.) hammering away at the ‘administration’ in an effort to weaken it, politically. If we can’t get rid of the guy via impeachment, we can at least see to it that he can’t do much. Believe me, in Bush’s last two+ years, he’s going to be the lamest of lame-ducks.

Yes, it would be emotionally satisfying to remove Bush (not to mention a blow for justice), but we may have to just settle for tying his hands somewhat. And, yes, Cheney would be worse.
