In light of recent bandwidth trouble, here’s the deal with the Friday Boots from now on: they will continue — but: each FB will be featured for 3 days max, depending on the situation. I’m sure this is going to piss off some of you (Isaac don’t loose that number, you don’t wanna call nobody else), but then again: you don’t have to pay the bills, so quit yer whining already.
Now then, allow me to introduce Barry’s Friday Poot. Whenever Gilles finds himself unable to present you with a boot here on KUR, I’ll sort of jump in and present you with my own Poot. This week’s Poot is Zappa acting as fraudulent DJ at BBC Radio One, January 27 1980. Enjoy!

tonite i dL’d the djzappa’s & the transfer rate was a blistering 175kb/sec!!!? ; never seen that much bandwidth offered even over a private server……
suggestion: limit the transfer rate to 25kb/sec & set it up so if more than 1 person connects, they share the 25kb….songs will take much longer to dL, but hey, patience has it’s rewards…..so what if it takes 10 minutes to dL a track; i’ve waited 25 years to get my hands on some of the fz stuff that’s been on friday’s poots, what’s another 25 minutes
Hmmm, interesting suggestion there slime (if I may call you that). Problem is I don’t run my own server, instead I’m on a shared server with about 20 other sites (shhh, don’t tell anyone). I’m not sure if I can limit the transfer rate, but I’m going to look into it anyway. Thanks for the suggestion. (And yes: 175kb/s = blistering fast! Nothing but the best for my – well, you get the idea ;-)
