Gunpoint
Outrageous: we’ve received a video showing what we presume to be a young webmaster held hostage and forced to confess at gunpoint.
Gunshots could be heard on the tape and it’s clear that the prisoner has been denied basic human rights, and contact with family for at least five years, and given no access to the outside world. I strongly advice to the faint of heart to NOT watch this video. Torture can never be justified, and must be clearly condemned.

If you listen carefully, it looks like behind the “beeeps” he intends to say something like “Fronk Zippo” and/or “CeeEff-Tee”…
Copies of this video have been sent to the FBI for complete analysis.

Alright, alright. I confess. I am an anarchist Fronk Zippo freak. While I have purchased the entire FZ catalogue many times, I have also collected and illegally shared substandard field recordings of FZ over the internet. I have made mixed tapes of FZ’s music in the past and mixed CDs of his music in the not so distant past. I am guilty, guilty, guilty as sin. I have even burned CD-Rs for friends. I am an info criminal. I believe in intellectual freedom and that the basis of all property is theft. I am Urbangraffito. Come get me. I am a immediate danger to your way of life.

Hi Vince – well, after the things happened lately this might not be the best place to discuss the possibilities of file-sharing… Sorry for that.
Maybe in the forums – did you try “Uncle Boot” there?

I like that!..”Most Zappa fans would choose a crappy audience taping of a ‘73 show than a ZFT release”.

I may just be a total philistine but what was the opening music? Perhaps something Iron Curtain-ish?
Loved the vid and am in total sympathy!

This is the National Anthem of the Soviet Union. “Soyuz nerushimiy respulic svobodniy…” I knew it all along in russian!
“Unbreakable Union of freeborn Republics,
Great Russia has welded forever to stand.
Created in struggle by will of the people,
United and mighty, our Soviet land!”

Confession at gunpoint, I suspected this would end like this.
Still less crual than Resolver & Brutality Track #5.

The way I see it.
Barry is exactly the opposite a mattress, as he’s a human being.
What he needs right now is a sense of new mixture.
And – here’s the medical doctor – just for free; he needs some old fashioned food.
Hutsepot met pjuuten & oaren.
An old recipe. Fat, however very healthy.
Meaning : Pigs foot, ears, patatoes, carrots, brussels sprouts, herbs, etc. , etc.

A quote from Balint:
This is really no National Anthem of the Soviet Union. Since there’s no such country called Soviet Union on that planet no longer. Our country now called Russia or Russian Federation. And that is a our modern anthem.
Yes, the music remains the same. Composed by Alexandr Alexandrov in 1943. Lyrics was written by Sergey Mikhalkov & Gabriel El-Registan. But in 2001 the lyrics was a little bit changed. Words ’bout Lenin’s party, communism ‘n’ all dat shit was edited out.

A quote from maltmaniac:
Of course, one can edit out the bits about “Lenin’s party, communism ‘n’ all dat shit” yet as recent Kremlin heavy handedness has revealed, people are more than willing to give up such things as “freedom of speech” and “freedom of the press” and “free and fair elections” in exchange for a modicum of perceived security.

Seriously, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if one or another Russian band, symphony orchestra or theatre group, you name it, would come up with ” FZ reinvented”.
My guess is that they already did ( I don’t know anything about art in current Russia, however everything is possible there).

A quote from maltmaniac:
Russia has always been the most dangerous place for a freak, but also the one place where the music of FZ and the MOI reverberates so deeply: if those early albums were a caustic satire of American corporate capitalist consumerist culture, just imagine how they would go over in Putin’s paradise? What a great time to be a freak…
