Dad and I went to the Zappa Plays Zappa concert and holy hell was it scary. 3500 people my father’s age screaming the dumbest crap ever. They stood up and clapped at the most random times. Oh, and the air bands. The air bands. Fifty-year-old men playing air guitar.
Well, I had my hands with full with telling a bunch kids to SHUT THE FUCK up at the Amsterdam gig. Two of them actually wore brown shoes … They had gotten the tickets for free and never heard of FZ. Fuck ’em, I say.

I must, in part, agree with the kid. Drunk, overweight guys my own age, refusing to sit down and listen to Dweez or to the music, was not the best way to hear an otherwise wonderful Bozzio, Steve Vai, NMBrock, and a hard working band.
