ZPZ In Rome

May 29th, 2006 • Barry's Imaginary Publisher

Francesco Gentile (now there’s a Zappa-nick waiting to happen!) kindly sent me a bunch of pictures taken at yesterday’s ZPZ concert in Rome. Here’s the Flickr set — nice close shots of Vai and Dweezil.

Geee… a different guitar! I wonder whether it had different sound or not.

  2. Barry's Imaginary Publisher says:

In Budapest, he played the Gibson SG exclusively?

  3. Balint says:

Yes, he did. And all the pics I saw I only remember that one.

  4. Balint says:

My favourite was the bass player. :-) Heavy!!!

  5. Sterbus says:

    I was there too.
Yes, the guitar had (obviously) a different sound, the typical clear and polite sound of a classic stratocaster.

THANKS BALINT for the pic of the bass player, Pete Griffin! I went to high school with him and played in a band with him for years! He’s been a huge zappa fan for a longtime and the fact that he can play in the ZPZ band at all is a dream come true for him! He’s having so much fun!

(PS: italian zappafans are really amusing, they get pissed off so easily ;-) )
