December 4, 1993

I remember the article in the newspaper (must have been on sunday), an obituary mentioning Zappa’s satire and career, the picture of Frank looking grey haired, with a tired glance; yet, smiling. WHAT..? How come..? But…he was still so young… that illness… Oh shit.
We were on holidays in the beach (december is summer in the south hemisphere). I took this picture of my son that very same day. It was like if the weather reflected states of mind: sunbeams around us, making the sea fluorescent green, and a stormy dense, heavy sky in the background. A zappian athmosphere.
It was a sad day.

cloaca.gifLoyal readers (who am I kidding) may remember my post last year December about the Cloaca machine. Lo and behold: the contraption now has a site of its own! Note: this is not a hoax, it is an Actual Work of Art by Belgian artist Wim Delvoye, which has been displayed in many museums across the world. Delvoye’s latest project by the way, envolves tattooing poems on the skin of live pigs.
