this boot is amazing…but is it a little bit sped up? just because FZ’s voice sounds a little higher than usual…or am I just imagining it?

“but is it a little bit sped up?”
More than likely; it’s a situation I encounter often. It can be “fixed” by resampling the tracks, and pasting them to new files. Here’s what you do:
Okay; copy this to doc. or store it somewhere. It will come in handy:
    1) Click on process; then click on resample. All CD wav files are 44,100 hz; that’s your ‘default’ setting. If the song is too fast, you’re going to want the sample rate higher; if it’s too slow, you’re going to want the rate slower. BUT, you need to find the correct pitch before you resample.
    2) There’s a box that says “set the sample rate only” – that’s how you test your success before you resample. (Here’s where it gets a little tricky…)
    3) If the song is too fast, you want to set the rate LOWER until you find a rate that sounds right (start with the one-thousand spot; I like to test them 2,000 at a time). Pay attention to the change you made, because you are going to have to ADD that number to the rate in order to change the pitch. The opposite is done for songs that are too slow, of course.
    4) Uncheck the “set the sample rate only” box. I always check the “apply anti alias filter to resample”, but I can’t tell you why.
    5) Click resample (at NO TIME do you save this file; it’s your master in case you love it up). When the resample process is complete,
    6) Click edit, and select all. Then copy the resampled file.
    7) Paste the copied file to a new file. You should get a warning box telling you that the sample rates don’t match and so your file will sound faster or slower; this is exactly what you want to see.
    8) Click Okay. Click “Save As” on this new file and save it as the same title as the master with a letter or number added at the end. When you are happy that you’ve gotten the speed/pitch you want, you can delete the master.

That oughta do it for ya…

thanks SOFA. you didn’t mention which program you were using to do your sound editing.

i used CoolEdit Pro v1.2. this program has a reasonably easy method of stretching out recorded tracks. from the program bar i selected Transform | Time/Pitch | Stretch. i then changed the ratio to 110% and changed the Stretching Mode to Resample. now frank sounds like frank again.
