The Voice Of Cheese: Michael Pabst
It’s time for another Voice Of Cheese! This week’s contribution comes to us from Michael Pabst and his band The Research Institute. The track, entitled 4 12 93 was composed by Michael and features him on bass. Quite Zappaesque if you ask me… Have a listen:

Very nice piece of music.
Amongst the styles that frank used to play this is one of my preferred, a la Saint Etienne.

Hands down, the most appropriate song for such a blog to host. Fantastic work by all the musicians, this is a keeper.

Absolutely beautiful, sounds like an Uncle Meat track redone in the Zoot Allures period. Absolutely beautiful.

Deliciously weird. The guitar is a tiny bit too tame for my liking, but over all: it’s cute, it’s hip, it has absolutely no commercial potential!
Great work!!

Hi everybody,
thanks for the positive comments (so far ;-)). There are still some CDs of this stuff available. We are just updating the mailorder possibilities. So keep in touch, if you are interested. We also hope to get something new done in the near future.
Best wishes to all,
Michael
