Ian Stonehouse just alerted me to the fact that all of Frank Zappa’s back catalogue seems to have mysteriously vanished from the iTunes music store. I checked, and sure enough: nothing there — at least for now. Could it have anything to do with the freshly released version 7?

I don’t know anything about those ” systems”.
Might e music be a solution? http://www.emusic.com/
The one thing I know is : we badly need an international Statute of Artists.
Am I wrong? Tell me.

Even if Zappa is still available on Emusic, he is no longer available on Emusic Europe.

Last time I checked I think it had somthing to do with Rykodisk. But I’m just guessing here.

Yes - we did notice a huge gap in the cover art (even allowing for the occasional coverless Friday Boot). Dweezil pops up in a few places on the UK store but seems to be missing from the US store altogether too.

Automatic by DZ is up ONLY in terms of Zappa music by a Zappa. Everything else is a cover album or a tribute. Ensemble Ambrosious, Harmonia Meets Zappa, and a few others. And now that iTunes 7 has been released, you can view the blank space in higher resolution!

Rykodisc got bought by WMG, and withdrew the Zappa back catalogue from iTunes and eMusic at the same time.
