The French have been voted the world’s most unfriendly nation by a landslide in a new British poll published. They were also voted the most boring and most ungenerous. The Germans have no to reason to celebrate the damning verdict. They came second on all three counts. Italy was voted the world’s most cultured nation with the best cuisine, while the United States was named the most unstylish with the worst food.

I’ve just bought a DVD about the series called ‘Allo ‘Allo. Do you know that one? With RenĂ© and Herr Flick? Talking about national stereotypes, hehe… a great stuff!

Ah, but did you know that the gendarme in ‘Allo ‘Allo was loosely based on 1970s British Prime Minister Edward Heath. Heath was fairly fluent in French, it was just that he made no attempt whatsoever to speak French with a French accent! If you ever get the chance to hear any of his speeches in French they are HOOTINGLY funny.

The deepest contradiction wothin ” old ” Europe ( the initial 6 from EEC ) is the one between the British and the Germans.
Without any doubt.
Just have a look at the writings of prof. Stern, who took care of Evidence. It goed back to the ( essential ) moment when the German fleet became bigger than the British. Followed by the German bombing of London, etc. .
Does it happen to be really outdated right now? Not yet, my guess.
