That is awesome… I love the “I suck (yeah supposedly!!), so I will just go for it attitude”. Makes the pieces really come to life… nice arrangement to… some of the chords really nicely glisten out.
More please!! Bravo!!

Another excellent video by Ian.
Your self-proclaimed suckiness is very entertaining!
Keep them coming!

Mr. Ian Tanner, Pianist, made his Town Hall debut last night. He came well prepared, but unfortunately his presentation was not up to contemporary professional standards. His playing lacks the range of tonal color necessary to make it consistently interesting. Full time consideration of another endeavor might be in order.
Just kidding, Ian. Your performances hark back to a time when people actually played music for themselves, family, friends, instead of just perfect audio repetitions of what they once heard.
Just for my last birthday, for instance, my son arranged a private saxophone concert for me. It was both the best, and most touching gift I had ever received.

Wow, I love it! It makes you realize that notes is notes and that any song can be played on any instrument, with a couple weeks and some serious chops! Thanks, made my day.

Hi Ian! 🙂 For some reason it’s difficult for me to find your FZ-stuff between your uploads (I know even this is an older recording) – so if you have anything new, just let us know! Great work!

That floored me. I’m sitting here with a big stupid grin on my face. Beautiful work.

You nailed it.
I SO love hearing Frank’s peices
played on piano with the proper
eyebrows.

Nice job mimicking skinny Terry Ted’s singing style. And by the way: Love the blue socks!

I like the bass part were Terry stands up and grabs the mic in the movie. Take your shirt off Ian (did I say that?)!

So awesome I’ve got to quote some Läther conversations.
“Bozzio: God, that was really beautiful …”
“Moire: It’s… it’s breathtaking…”

Amazing!! Well done Ian and thank you KUR for sharing it – love it!!!

loved the end. “oh great now I can play it every time.”
Way to make such a complex piece seem easy! Now just transcribe the entire guitar solo and play that on piano and you’ll be ready for ZPZ auditions!

BRILLIANT!
