Mike Miller Quintet – Live At The Baked Potato, 2008

Mike Miller, known around Los Angeles as a guitarist’s guitarist, along with the rest of the Mike Miller QuintetJimmy Johnson, Chad Wackerman, Walt Fowler, and Albert Wing – performed a live set at Los Angeles’ The Baked Potato on December 26th, 2008 to promote the release of the Mike Miller Quintet CD, World Goes Round.

Update (12/14/10): I had posted several YouTube videos from this event, folks, thinking the KUR community would be interested to see what some former FZ alumni were up to, and to promote a really funky Jazz album – but what has become more and more of a draconian reaction to the throwing of the spotlight on certain videos here at KUR, has been the removal of said video at YouTube. If this is how the artist and their label promote their albums and music, I wish them luck! ~ Urbangraffito

Mike Miller Quintet:

Mike Miller – guitar

Jimmy Johnson – bass

Chad Wackerman – drums

Walt Fowler – trumpet

Albert Wing – tenor sax

  1. Is this the same Mike Miller who toured briefly with the excellent fusion band Brand X in 1978? Main BX guitarist John Goodsall had developed tendonitis and needed Mike to fill in for few dates on the tour. There are a couple of bootlegs that feature both guitarists on a few shows as well.

This isn’t the first time this has happened, either, Balint. It makes me scratch my head, frankly. I can understand the artist and their label wanting to protect their copyright, but we at KUR were never infringing their rights. There is a term known as “FAIR USE” that many artists and labels (and YouTube) seem to have forgotten. Unbelievable, indeed!
