Roy Harper. The song is from 1971 (Stormcock), the performance from 1986. Amazingly strong guitar playing. Hey.

Hats of to him! Ba dum dum…
Helluva album.
Sadly, I only know Roy from his connection with Zeppelin & Floyd. So, it’s nice to finally catch a performance of the man. That guitar has a wicked sound. I can hear his influence on guys like Page, Gilmour & even Zappa (similiar guitar sound on Canard du Jour).
I will diffinitely check out his album Stormcock.
Jimmy Page actually plays on “Stormcock”. It’s all acoustic, it’s pretty great, and in the US, it’s out of print and hard to find. At least it was last time I looked. Jimmy Page later got Tony Franklin, who was playing bass with Roy Harper, to play with him in the Firm.
Sweet! Have a guitar …
…and not forgetting his son, Nick Harper, regularly performed (performs?) a one man Titties ‘n’ Beer… good familay all round, it would seem.
