Ponty turned 65 last year, but i doubt you’ll see a retirement tour for a long time. He still sounds good, looks good, so why stay home to write those memoirs?
I would love to see him reunite with George Duke!
Nice video. Tight band with Jean-Luc. No surprise there.

If you check out the line-up on Ponty’s new studio album, you’ll notice at least one former band mate of George Duke’s from his tours with Billy Cobham, and who also played on some of Duke’s early to mid 70s fusion albums.

A friend who is a huge Ponty Fan says JLP has tunes from the King Kong album on the setlist for an upcoming run through Europe.
Betcha that will fry some old woman’s ass–what was her name, starts with a G?

JLP plays with l’Ensemble de Basse-Normandie for the Tribute to FZ night during the Jazz à Vienne festival (Vienne, France) in July. Can’t wait to see them together (even if I’m a bit afraid he tries to steal the show)
