This particular thread has been inspired by a boot made avaible on this website. Thanks.

I have been enjoying the Playhouse 1977 boot for quite some time now, and especially the Black Napkins, along with Jobsons solo. Because of that I have been searching my other boots and records for Jobson-solos. And I was wondering: Eddie Jobson has been credited with keyboards And VIOLIN on the ZINY. But does he actually play violin on any tracks on ziny, and if so which?

I think you can hear some violin in The Black Page #1,

and if you would check the concert recording of Dec.28th, 1976,
available in this Uncle Beat vine for example,
http://www.killuglyradio.com/forum/index.php?topic=522.0 ,
you can even hear Eddie Jobson play the violin in Black Page #2
(mixed out on ZINY, virtually inaudible there).

You can check out Eddie Jobson with a band called UK, they recorded 3 big albums in the UK in the 80s, Bozzio played drums on them and John Wetton played bass and sand (as if you can shut the fucker up)
Caeser Palace Blues and Nothing to Lose were big over here in the UK
You tube as

and.. well use your head.. Enjoy

Eddie's most famous violin solo is in "Love is all" by Roger Glover featuring Ronnie James Dio.

Regarding Zappa In New York, you can hear Jobson on violin on the original vinyl,  but then
Frank changed the mix on the CD.  Talkin' Black Page Pt 2...
I have been learning this piece on guitar, so I've listened to the vinyl a BILLION times...
