Zappa on Arsenio is just that-Zappa on the Arsenio Hall show! They talk about how Arsenio got to where he's at, the Uncle Meat home video, and some other random things. I downloaded it from Kazaa, but it took me a while to find it. It's worth checking out. It runs about 9 minutes. Good luck.

But, has he made "video clips" as we know them? I've never seen one. I mean, i saw him on mtv playing Bobby Brown, but it was an excerpt from Does Humor Belong in Music, i believe...

Oh yeah!  THE PRESIDENT FROM HELL!  Oops, I forgot.  He's not the only one...

There's also the video for "G Spot Tornado," with lots of flimmering effects, wherein two separate film sequences are spliced together in rapid succession.  FZ used that same technique often in "Uncle Meat."

I just remembered one that I'll bet is EXTREEMLY rare. Anybody remember The Mothers Of Invention's appearance on Johnny Carson??
I don't remember the year, but it had to be around 69... give or take a year.
My numbskull-preacher-dad kept turning off the TV & I kept turning it back on numerous times during that 3 minutes.
No.... can't remember what song. Sure would like to see THAT one again!

not a video as such, but you've sparked my memory. in australia in the sixties, there was a ten minute 'alternative' music show on the national broadcaster. it was called gtk, and hosted by a guy called chris winter. one evening, it was fz live. it was an instrumental, and began mid-song just when fz said "shake up the pale dry ginger ale." that was it for any vocals over the next ten minutes, and i now realise it must have been penguin in bondage. then again. we didn't get colour tv till the early 70s, so it was in b&w. the truly keen may be able to get in touch with the abc. in fact, go to their website, then go to a program called rage. this is a music video show which has the most amazing files. if i can find the time, i'll try and find out if they have it.

steve: thank you! you actually play a bicycle?
fz:    uh, yeah!
steve: are you in the musicians' union?
fz:    uh,  no.
