in australia in the sixties, there was a ten minute 'alternative' music show on the national broadcaster. it was called gtk, and hosted by a guy called chris winter. one evening, it was fz live. it was an instrumental, and began mid-song just when fz said "shake up the pale dry ginger ale." that was it for any vocals over the next ten minutes, and i now realise it must have been penguin in bondage. then again. we didn't get colour tv till the early 70s, so it was in b&w. the truly keen may be able to get in touch with the abc. in fact, go to their website, then go to a program called rage. this is a music video show which has the most amazing files. if i can find the time, i'll try and find out if they have it.
Good luck cas, I've tried to get info out of them before about a music show from the same period featuring a band called Tully, with no success. The GTK show was fantastic and so hip compared to everything else music-wise at the time. I watched it regularly but missed that Zappa clip. GTK stood for Get To Know. The ABC's website btw is www,abc.net.au for anyone interested.
