ZPZ Milan and Conceptual Continuity Run Amok
« on: May 31, 2006, 03:26:00 PM »

You, my KUR friends, are the only people I know who can truly appreciate the sublime irony in what I am about to tell you.
My daily routine takes me to a number of internet sites for tape-traders…a few of them (like KUR) are devoted to FZ, and others are more general in nature.  This morning, on one site which rarely features the music of FZ (Trader’s Den), I was delighted to find the ZPZ Milan show!  What I saw next…left me SPEECHLESS!
The very next offering on the list…not two or three later…but THE VERY NEXT ONE…was a live performance by…

…none other than…

…you’re not going to believe this…

…conceptual continuity is about to get down with it’s bad self…

…A N G E L !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Featuring, none other than the Pooched-Out Succulence of…one Punky Meadows!!!  Live in California, 1970)

It’s a show I feel like I really should have y’know?  I can see from the stats that it’s not an especially popular show…in fact, it’s not even available anymore, and it was only put up this morning!  I hope it goes back up soon, because somehow the conceptual continuity of my Zappa collection is incomplete without a representation of Punky himself!

All that aside…

I was able to get the ZPZ Milan Show…want it?
Terry Ted was elsewhere that night, and Joe Travers sat in on drums.  The set list looks the same with one exception…COSMIK DEBRIS!

The purists in the trading community are pretty anal about the integrity of the trading pool, and I respect that, so I request the same conditions as with the Berlin show…

-To keep the pool clean…Please Do Not Convert to MP3 and then Circulate.  I am sending out audio which originated as FLAC files…the best lossless audio possible.  If you convert to MP3, that’s your business…just don’t circulate anything that is, or has ever been, in MP3 (or any other lossy) form.

-Purchase any Official releases that may result from this tour.

-Be quicker than me in your turn-around time (which shouldn’t be too hard).

Here's the poop:

Barry you're too kind.  Do you want the Angel concert too?  I couldn't resist getting it.

I stand corrected...

This set list IS different from Berlin.  Imaginary Diseases, I'm So Cute, Tryin' to Grow a Chin, City of Tiny Lights and Punky's Whips are all absent from this set list...as is (unfortunately) the Drum Solo version of Black Page (sorry Balint - I too would liked to have heard a Joe Black Page!).

Still, this is a great set, and Travers is a hell of a drummer!  The sound is even better than Berlin (which is quite good!).

If you can squeeze it in, why not? Would be a nice one for the archives! Smiley

Actually it's the Angel concert I'm particularly curious about ...

Happy to sign up to the conditions at the top of this post, though with slight concern about a fast turnaround as I have a very poor postal service here, could you include me on this one
