Okay. I just emailed the Patio's owner in order to let him know...

I'm not totally thrilled, to be honest. It isn't that the patio is MINE, or anything, as of course it's made up of the contributions of many, many people. I've expressed my misgivings about the Wiki model before to the administrator of this site.

In addition, the way the Patio currently is will (hopefully sooner rather than later) change form somewhat, with the main pages becoming more "guide-oriented" with links to sub-pages that contain the expanded, obsessive "dialogue" format we have now. If the Wiki wants to host some of this dialogue, I suppose that's appropriate, and people can add their opinions as they see fit.

So geez, I guess I should come to a conclusion, right? Ehh. I dunno. In general, I'd prefer if the wiki did not copy too much of the information from the patio, at least without crediting the original source. That sounds good, right? I suppose I can leave it at that.

[Edit: And honestly, if it takes so long to copy a section, isn't it much easier to just sorta link to the patio?]

Could you guys tell me how you feel about it ?

I have never liked this cutting and pasting of other peoples stuff into the wiki. It is too easy to perpetuate the mistakes.  If you care enough why not write it yourself?

Did you verify any of this information before pasting it in?  As far as I recall the UK (British?) issue SVLP 9154 had a black label. Should label colours be listed with each disc or included on the Verve Records page?  The wiki has it's own structure so just dumping other peoples stuff into it starts to break up that structure.

All right dudes Smiley understood the message.

I am gonna see how I can restart this versions page from scratch with information I could find and verify by myself. No problemo. Thanks for your feeback guys, these were constructive comments.

By the way, Xenu, I guess I was a bit stressed because of the Patio frozen period.

Also please note I just got a bunch of bootlegs and other stuff and I was wondering which was the best way to relay the info to the other crazy fans as you and me... I guess the best way would be to update both the Wiki and the Patio. Wink
