the ultimate fz site

as the wiki's goal is no less than to become the ultimate zappa site, maybe someone should try to convince Oscar to go wiki.
Does the Zappa Wiki Jawaka have some sort of promo spokes person?  Smiley

Touring Can Make You Crazy
http://www.webalice.it/oscar.bianco/tcmyc/index.html

is a new website dedicated to investigate the live entertainment activities of Frank Zappa.
It's a work in progress, so new material will be added every few weeks

I've just added the
1975 'Bongo Fury' tour page

Any suggestion, hint, correction, addiction is really, really welcome

There's a word in Unimuta's post that I personally do not like: convince.

Sure, if the Wiki is to become the ultimate Zappa location, as many contributers as possible should 'feed the Wiki'. But convincing people to 'do the Wiki' instead of maintaining their own small effort on the Web is just like Microsoft has been doing bussiness for the last 20 odd years: elliminating most of their creative competitors by either a buy-out or bully tactics.

For all we know, this could be Oscars first attempt to put something about Zappa onto the net (who didn't try to do this?) and he's really proud about succeeding to do so (I was).

I think you can ask people to join the Wiki initiative and they can accept or refuse.  Convincing people to go Wiki is a bit excessive (and a bit too much the MS way) in my opinion.

Any other views on this?

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe. -FZ-

Wrong choice of words, Bobo.
My mistake.

Please replace "convince" by "ask politely if he might be interested in contributing to", and read the question again.

With hindsight, my mistake too.

I've been watching the Wiki development for some time now and your post suggested to me that the Wiki was to be the only right place to publish Zappa facts on the web and that starting up a new site on Zappa, like Oscar is doing, was a kind of a futile thing to do.

And I kinda sympathised with Oscar and used the wrong way to express my concerns of the Wiki turning into a all consuming Godzilla site on Zappa.

If I offended you, please accept my appologies.
