Wiki Jawaka chat

With the recent flurry of activity we've been seeing at the wiki (some hardworking people!), I thought it may be useful to have an informal get-together for all those involved/interested in the project.

I'll be around next Sunday-evening (that's around 18:00 CET, to make it convenient for you Americans) most likely at PaperDragonStudio's chatroom - I still have to ask Dennis of PDS if it's okay with him to have our chat there though I don't think he'll mind.

If you're interested in hearing more about the wiki, how to contribute, etc, feel free to drop by!

You would meet some people over there that might be interested in contributing to Wiki Jawaka.

the content looks great so far, looks like it's gonna get pretty big....i'd re-consider the jawaka part of the name or be prepared for a cease & desist

Anyway, Dennis has graciously provided his chatbox (see above) so that'll be the place then. Drop in if you're interested - and that includes Zappateers and ZappaDotComians!

slime makes a very good point, one that I considered AFTER everyone seemed to like the 'Wiki Jawaka' and I came up with "Walk-a-ja Wiki" - which, I believe, gives the same message without actually quoting a copyrighted FZ title...

it don't matter...here's a sampling of what to consider when it comes to © ® infringement, it probably falls into the bunch of other stuff category

...just a cursory glance suggests that it incorporates at a minimum some of what are known as common law trademarks and certain copyrighted materials.

Then there is just the most basic matter of trading on FZ's name (yes), image (yes), likeness (possibly not), good will that he created in his lifetime (yes) and a bunch of other stuff...

the name is great, hate to see the project get so big & popular that it starts drawing some unwanted attention

before abandoning the name, nothing to loose by emailing gail@zappa.com & ask what she thinks...it's non-profit, informative, and maybe if gail knows she can participate, she might throw in a few undisclosed/unpublished factoids
