I have been in you

hey guys, good to be here, hard to find people my age in my area who like zappa... and while you're probably not my age, and you're probably not in my area... lets party anyways
haha well favorite songs? like most people say this is always changing, but I was started on Sheik Yerbouti, and just returned to it. On pure comedic value, I have been in you, flakes, jewish princess, bobby brown. then you can turn on what ever happened to... and just go nuts as it slips into tomago. But i could name pretty much every track on sheik yerbouti as my favorite since it had such a profound effect on my life.
so other favorite songs... Gumbo variations, unkle remus, stinkfoot, grand wazoo... eh i'll stop there. I could name other songs, and why they're my favorites, and the feeling i had the first time i heard them... but hey, i dont have time to write it, and who has time to read that shit?
hmm... favorite album... tough choice... how about.. maybe.. SHIEK YER(MUTHAFUCKIN)BOUTI? yeah, maybe

I'd have to say my favorite is probably Joe's Garage. There are soo many good songs to choose from on the other albums as well, so I doubt I would ever have an absolute favorite. I'm still getting into the early stuff but so far I like Freak Out the best in that phase.

Favorite tune is ... "I Come From Nowhere." It contains the most wicked Frank solo ever.

My favorite Zappa track has to be a tie between "What's The Ugliest Part Of Your Body?" and "Billy The Mountain". If we're talking albums, I'd have to go with Sleep Dirt.

My favourite song are "I Donīt Want To Get Drafted" because when I was 18 years of age and went to the military draft board in Karlstad here in Sweden, just that song of FZ was very popular. Remember myself singing and humming it on my way to the railwaystation to get the train back home. I didīnt got drafted to do my education in the Swedish defence. My favourite album is "Sheik Yerbouti", which was my first ever Zappa-album

Favorite Zappa Song: "Dog breath" because the melody is awesome, and the words so simple that even a nark from L.A. could understand them. Favorite Album: "Bongo Furry" because Captain Beefheart was so demented, yet keepin' it real. Maybe because Frank knew how to keep him from going too far out there. Also because the slide work by Denny Walley was so rightious, it was unbelievable. And Frank just nailed it on this one.

Favorite Zappa Song: Zoot Allures As much as I love Zappa's lyrics, various musicians' vocals, and all of the hilarious and sobering messages therein, his instrumental works are what really blow me away. The original and live versions of this tune contain incredible FZ solos, which are hands down my favorite things about his works. Plus, it is also really neat to hear Zoot Allures evolve from the baby on the '76 tour (Japan recordings?) to the show opener in later years. Great stuff.
Favorite Album: We're Only in it for the Money The concept album of concept albums, IMHO. Listened to this the other day for the first time in a couple years, and the messages still ring true. Frank really knew what he was talking about...

They change don't they , I have a soft spot for the live Whippin' Post but the one tune that is always in my head is Camarillo Brillo , not my favourite but it is always there , I guess I have been listening to Zap for around 35 to 40 years now and I think that Zap always had semi pop (Dynamo , Jones Crusher , Enema Bandit )stuff like that and then stuff like ShutUp 'n'Play and 200 Motels ...fuck it ,I like'Em All

Right at this particular moment in time, I'm digging on 'Imaginary Diseases' - those spectacular horn parts bookending an amazing live solo - and 'Down in Da Dew' from Lather. 'Uncle Remus' has gotten at least one play a week for the last ten years, also.

Soft Sell Conclusion- this may be because absolutely free is my latest addition but I can still skip the first 6 tracks and pick up where the invocation leaves off without missing a beat.
