Topic: How about some FZ movies-vine?... (Read 4485 times)

Since this place Uncle beat is for FZ-shows, trading audio-dokuments, a question arouse from deep inside my heart: how about sending films, movies to each other, making vines out of it, too? I happen to have several of them, but before offering any, I will start with a request.
(note: offerings here should be - i think - non-official releases, I mean TV-shows, interviews, and things like that, if you agree).
So the stuff in question would be, as a request:
1988, Barcelona, whole show,
broadcasted by the local TV (I think).
As a surprise, I have to tell that I have that one... but not in very good quality. While downloading it from a p2p system I managed to find a tiny bit of this show in really good quality - that is what I'm looking for.
The reason I'd like to have it is because lately we try to do shows together with the Hungarian FZ Tribute band, and before each of their shows we present a movie, sometimes with hungarian subtitles.
It seems to be a success, and we'd like to continue this with barcelona '88, but my version is not really good.
I have stuffs to offer, too, and still have 1-2 request, but first: what do you think?

Absolutely Brilliant...I have a VCR Tape of FZ on Saturday Night live...1 show poor quality, the other good, and "The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing", which I believe was only played on U.S. tv once. The only problem is that European vcrs won't play these tapes, and I have no way to put them on dvd...suggestions, anybody?

I have a dvd burner, a show can be rendered out in pal format and burned onto dvd as region 1 and should play fine in europe, most new players will do it. the video must have been rendered in pal due to ac being 50 hz.
If you have no dvd burner, sorry. I made some of the videos to dvd in ntsc, region 1 and so far so good until its hits a european tv system
I can render both and burn both, but dont have a dvd player that can read pal, nor need it now.
If i change the region on my dvd burner to accomodate such, you can only change it a few times then the dvd is non usable until the factory fixes it (or something like that).

Ok, hoping they dont take me to the public square and hang me, there is a piece of video I "ATTEMPTED" to rescue off of a 24 year old tape. Frank Zappa, June 11, 1980, Palais des Sports, Paris, France . Been out there a long long time, so if ya got it, skip this one for sure. When I say this is for pure fetish-ist sakes, I truly mean it. The colors, grain and every conceivable artifact is in it, regardless of my years of editing experience. Proving the theory of, Garbage In - Garbage Out. About 15 some minutes, it is Frank, Ike, Ray, Tommy, Arthur and David Logeman doing If Only She Woulda (incl. Louie Louie, She's Not There, Evil Ways, Black Magic Woman), I Don't Wanna Get Drafted ( She's Not There), Joe's Garage, Why Does It Hurt When I Pee? ( She's Not There). Fun to see Arthur do a keyboard/bass solo, ALONE, and Frank playing Louie Louie strutting around laughing. You CAN recognise Arthur and Frank. Maybe Tommy, Ike and Ray. I have been working on this. My copy seems to have been created by someone sitting in front of a TV with a hand held camcorder recording it. It shakes a lot.  Perhaps this is what passes for video work in the Windows world  I have run it through a stabiliser but you lose quality from an already poor quality source. I think we will have to live with the shakes. What format is best for a video vine? DVD, VCD or just Quicktime/AVI on a CD that everyone can use? PAL/NTSC is not much of a problem these days as most modern TV systems can playback either. You can usually hack a DVD player (with the remote control) to make it play any region.

Hi DesireVie, and welcome to the forums! I attempted to download from your server yesterday, but only got about 40Megs. Of course, THAT'S when I realized I already have this juicy chunk of video!  The quality on my copy is better (they are 2 mpegs each of about 600megs; this post on Hot Poop has some screenshots). I can set up a vine for this one if anyone's interested, but will need a bit of time since I'm currently a bit erh-- cd-burner challenged shall we say... |

Yes, I would agree that it is kind of poor, but for those who may wish anything, there it is.
I did like the mix of songs in it though, with such a cheesy pattern and the songs overtop.
My other footage is better. My link is somewhat slower than normal, maybe due to intensly bad weather, I dont know.
The problem i have with many of the tapes is A. I bought most of them over 20 years ago, and B. Ive played the poop out of them. So if good ole ZFT wouldnt mind releasing good quality, I'd buy it. But I dont think she needs money, so the urgency isnt there.
