Dancin' Foll & Dong Work For Yuda
« on: September 26, 2004, 11:14:16 AM »

What are the backing vocals at the end of Dancin' Fool ?

You know  behind Zappa as he does the spoken stuff at the end *You must be a Libra* etc.

I thought it was Queen Of Sheba but it's not.
Any ideas ?

Also any students of Dong Work For Yuda out there?

I can get most of Terry Ted's stuff but there's one line on some live stuff where he talks about shipping equiptment out of somewhere in Texas, and on the Paris show from 3/2/77 it sounds like he says *I'm Jewish and I'm alive and well* but of course it may not be this at all.

Anyway,all I can say is Driver,McDoodle.

Today, let's learn how to say "never mind" in Japanese. In Japanese, ki means "mind" "spirit" "heart" and so on. There are lots of idioms that use ki in Japanese, and one of them is ki ni suru, which means "do mind." Suru is a verb that means "to do" here. (suru is an irregular verb, so its conjugation pattern is unpredictable. However, this verb is used very frequently.) If you make the verb negative, I mean change it from suru to shi nai, the meaning of ki ni shi nai becomes "take it easy" "Never mind" "Don't feel bad about it" "don't worry" etc. depending on the context.

(Ki-ni-shinai!)

Yes,an excellent learned reply if I might say so.

It was the *Ki-ni-shinai* I was interested in as I've never seen this printed in any Zappa lyric database.

Thankyou very much.

Frank Zappa is the best, along with Jethro Tull!

BTW: I never heard the disco mix of Dancin Fool. What sounds like? It's interesting, rubbish, crappy or funny?
