Albums that were never released
« on: April 01, 2002, 10:38:10 AM »

Hi Frankie!  I'm new posting, but I have enjoyed reading Hot Plate Heaven a bunch.  When you were talking to Sharleena you mentioned a third set of cd's with only guitar solos.  Was this TranceFusion you were referring to?  Wha'happened there?  Do you believe it will ever be released?  Also, what do you think about the cd that Gail has just released?  Is it something you would have chosen to release, or would you have picked a different one?

By the way, I absolutely love Shut Up and Play Your Guitar!  I wonder where all this wonderful music was all these years and why oh why did I stop listening to you after the sixties!  And Lather is fantastic!  I wish for both you and me that it had been put out in the 70's.

Wish you were here

Hi Frankie!
Hey Debrakadabra
I'm new posting, but I have enjoyed reading Hot Plate Heaven a bunch.
Thanks! I enjoy it a bunch too.
When you were talking to Sharleena you mentioned a third set of cd's with only guitar solos.  Was this TranceFusion you were referring to?
Yes - at least, that's the title I came up with.
Wha'happened there?  Do you believe it will ever be released?
I don't know wha'happened there and yes I do believe it will be released. My assumption is that there was a problem releasing that material with the current Ryko arrangement - which is still not completely resolved. The tracks are mastered; it's ready to go into production; the Trust would be foolish to not ever release it. When it will be released is a question for the lawyers...
Also, what do you think about the cd that Gail has just released?  Is it something you would have chosen to release, or would you have picked a different one?
Hmm; good question...
There's a lot of stuff in the vault. A significant portion of it requires some extensive work... There's a little - like TranceFusion, Dance Me This, & Rage and the Fury that are ready to go. This is the stuff (done late in my output) that poses the legal problem for release. So, what canbe released right now is older stuff. Of the older stuff available to chose from, those Australian tapes are the least trouble to produce (they were done well to begin with). I'd planned a release of those tapes at around that time, until other commitments sidetracked the project.

By the way, I absolutely love Shut Up and Play Your Guitar!
Thanks again.
I wonder where all this wonderful music was all these years and why oh why did I stop listening to you after the sixties?
The music was there. Why you stopped listening, GOD only knows.
(And I aint asking...)

And Lather is fantastic!  I wish for both you and me that it had been put out in the 70's.
You're too kind.
Back when it was an issue, I agree with you about its release. Given the years to think about it, it happened for the best. Ya know, it's funny how that works...

Wish you were here.
I wouldn't say that...
But thanks for writing,
Frankie

Hiya Frankie!

I have now become a legitimate persona on the message boards!  Even though what I don't know about computers could fill a book. Anyway...

I know whatcha mean about time adding perspective!  I think (even though you didn't ask) that is why I stopped listening to you, that and poorness!!  Oh well.  Your music is here now and that 's what counts!  Anything else I used to listen to now sounds insipid.

And I suppose that I must buy this new release, in order that more from the vault will be given out.  Also I hear from the best sources that it will be a fantastic album.  My name on the cover doesn't really mean all that much to me.

Well, gotta run.  If I think of any more burning questions I would want to ask the Man,  I will be back.

How's the weather in the afterlife?

Hiya Frankie!
Hey Debrakadabra; nice of you to return.
I know whatcha mean about time adding perspective!  I think (even though you didn't ask) that is why I stopped listening to you, that and poorness!!
Been a while, but I can relate...
Your music is here now and that 's what counts!  Anything else I used to listen to now sounds insipid.
Thanks.
You can find non-insipid music, I'm sure. But, I'd grant it's not easy!

And I suppose that I must buy this new release, in order that more from the vault will be given out.  Also I hear from the best sources that it will be a fantastic album.  My name on the cover doesn't really mean all that much to me.
I can't account for what's happening over there. But I can say the success of the new release will affect future vault excursions. In that respect, I salute your faith.
I can also say that it will be a fantastic recording. The band was enjoying an unusual string of good health, good accoustics, good performances, and great audiences. It shows, believe me.

How's the weather in the afterlife?
Damn hard to explain to the corporeal... Since there's no atmosphere per se, there is no 'weather'; not as you could conceive it, anyway. What we have are 'conditions'. Each entity is allowed its own condition to which it aspires (I mean, that's kinda the point, aint it?). It's the closest the ethers come to what you know as weather. Let's just say the conditions are ideal, as always.
Thanks for writing,
Frankie

Hi again Frankie!
I'm back in a different color, hopefully.  I went back and read some of the earlier posts since you changed over to the new forum and I must say I am glad you are back to your ususal ungrumpy self.  I haven't been here since the changeover!  It makes me feel better that I don't know the fuck what I'm doing either!

To the question of the momement.  What would you consider to be un-insipid music on the earth plane at the moment?  Besides Nancarrow, Stravinsky, Stockhausen, Webern and of course Edgard Varese ? Or does this require a new thread?

Wow! Twice in one day! That may be a record...
Hi Dk (hope ya don't mind, but yer handle is a bitch to type),

I went back and read some of the earlier posts since you changed over to the new forum and I must say I am glad you are back to your ususal ungrumpy self.
I beg your pardon? I'll have you know that my Grumpy is as Lavy as it's ever been!
I have a rep. And I'd appreciate you not fucking it up...
(can't go around 'n' have people thinking you're nice)

I think it does; kinda like a change of subject requires a new paragraph... It makes things easier. Since I'm here, I'll start it out for ya. Look for your answer under "Un-insipid Music".

Twice in one day! That may be a record...
For you, me or the forum?

Hi Dk (hope ya don't mind, but yer handle is a bitch to type),
'Sokay, I prefer to sign DebK, myself

I beg your pardon? I'll have you know that my Grumpy is as Lavy as it's ever been!

'Hmm, yeah....I guess I understand that.  I have a rep, too.  If people thought I wasn't dancing around a bonfire every full moon and casting spells or I started wearing pastel colors and reading Shirley McClain they would begin to wonder what the hell is wrong with 'ol Debra.  I won't mess with the Lumps in your Gravy.

I think it does; kinda like a change of subject requires a new paragraph... It makes things easier. Since I'm here, I'll start it out for ya. Look for your answer under "Un-insipid Music".
Thank you for taking care of that for me, Frankie, your such a nice......I mean you're such a prick!

Right on!

Right off!

Thanks for writing,

Thanks for reading,

Frankie
