Stupid Band Names

Hi, kids!

As an American living in Germany, it is sometimes very funny what happens when people try to use the English language because they "think it sounds cool."

More often than not, these folks come across as pretty dorky.

Take, for example: this morning on my way to work, I encountered an advertisement for a rockin' teenage combo named "No Competition."  All I could think was, "Gee, these guys don't stand a chance in Hell winning a Battle of the Bands!"

"Ladies and Gentlemen, our next contestants are No Competition!"

Well, in the name of good fun and in the hopes to generate some AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION, I'd like to ask our Board of Experts to share their Stupidest Band Names with the forum.

Ya really popular idea there, LCS.
Way back in the late 70's I was in W.TX's one & only punk band & during the first bit we had to decide on a name of course, & the idiot co-singer (who got fired later that week) suggests How'bout The back Eyed peas? HELL NO you IDIOT!
.....and I'll be damned if there isn't a "Black Eyed Peas" on the charts right now.

Most band names are pretty stupid really.
Beatles & Monkees are pretty stupid names if ya think about it.
The 60's & 70's had tons of stupid names. The Ultimate Spinach, Atomic Rooster, Electric Prunes, The Chocolate Watchband, Human Beinz, The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band.................etc etc

Living in Denmark I also happen to come across some pretty stupid names like a boyband called C21 (what does that mean?), and a girlband called EyeQ.

But the name "Electric Prunes", I think I like that, must be because it reminds me of "Duke of Prunes".

Yeah, if you want stupid names, have a look at boys/girls bands. Over here in Belgium we have "Vanda Vanda", "K3", "Milk Inc" and a bunch of other names I wish hadn't invaded my subconsciousness.
