Today I have been listening to three records I just bought on LP. All of them I have heard before, but not on Vinyl, only on CD. Bongo Fury, a very good album featuring good guitar solo (Walley as well as FZ), and the onlyBeefheart I have ever gotten used to, except from Safe As Milk (and some of the YCDTOSA-stuff) Roxy & Elsewhere. This is without doubt my alltime favourite FZ-album, and on LP it sounds even more delicious! Thumbs up and: Over-nite Sensation. It has never been any of my favorite, but it has some good songs nonetheless, allthough allmost all of the songs are available officially in other, and better versions. Especialy Zomby Woof (YCDTOSA 1). Which brings me to my next issue. Why wasn't any of the 1973-stuff released officially? Just listen to the Sydney-concert (Thanks to Barry & the Friday-boots!) or the Piquantique-Stockholm concert! The band is awsome, especially Ponty's and FZ's solos. Plus the Farther O'blivion would add an extra dimension to the "conceptual continuity". The Version on YCDTOSA, what is that? And compared to that stuff Over-nite sounds kind of weak.
