Nice. I like how she keeps the steady 4/4 pulse going with the castanets.
Reminds me of the quote in the liner notes from Chunga’s Revenge: “Dozens of imported castanets, clutched by the horrible suction of its heavy duty hose, waving with marginal erotic abondon in the midnight autumn air.”
Obviously her next Zappa tap dance should be “Approximate” since that one has a precedent: it was already danced without musical accompaniment by the 1974 (OSFA) Mothers themselves! 😉

She is AWESOME. She performs better with her feet than many musicians do with drums. Wowzers.

I’m impressed. It’s interesting to wonder what uses for this talent Frank himself might have come up with had he been able to see this.

The dancing is impressive, and so is David Ocker’s presence here! Let’s hope you’ll find time to comment from time to time, David. Or what about another in-depth interview, Barry?

I second that emotion (and I’m not easily impressed).

I’d like to see this as a flash mob with a hundred Alli Bachs! Beneath the Eiffel Tower! On Times Square! Everywhere!

Sinister footwear, indeed!

So, will she have to pay performance royalties to ZFT? 😉 Also, she could be the beginning of “Dance Me This II” – DVD of compilation of people dancing FZ compositions. It could be tap, interpretive, spastic or whatever.

I do have some questions for David and will send them to you in an e-mail when I find the time. I’m sure other people have things to ask him as well, considering that he worked closely with Frank for many years.
