George Duke, ZPZ, Gail: Zappa.com News

1st: George Duke will be joining ZPZ in Los Angeles, I think on the 4th of december. Possibly in the Aposrophe tunes. Hey hey.

2nd: Gail Zappa answers 50 questions before Christmas. Follow the link – and ask!

3rd: Here’s an interesting solo by Mathias Eklund with the ZPZ in Gothenburg (from Dark Clothes). Fun. To me.

That’s all for today, folks.

Been a big fan of Mattias IA Eklundh ever since I heard his cover of FZ’s “The Black Page” on Freak Guitar – a must have for anyone who loves fantastic guitar riffs and solos: really fucking amazing shit (or so my son would say), as well as Freak Guitar-The Road Less Traveled.

As for 50 questions for Gail before Xmas, Balint, the only situation in which I would ever want to ask GZ a question now would be one in which she was connected to a polygraph. I’m not suggesting that she lies, not at all, but her evasions and her muddles are mythic.

Re: George Duke will be joining ZPZ in Los Angeles. I can just hear some twentysomething in the audience, “George who?” Still, I hope he gives them all an advanced workshop in being Funky now!

1st: Duke stated after seeing the first ZPZ tour that he would never be involved because all the fun was gone from the music. Never say never.
    2nd: 50 Questions 4 Gail?
    No, not never!
Only kidding, Mrs. Z. I heard Gail was very approachable and pretty cool at The Roadhouse event. :)
    3rd: Excellent solo by Mattias!

    Thanks for the links, Balint.

Wow! George Duke thought that, too?

George Duke with ZPZ? That could almost justify a trip to LA… It is just that humorous element that they need.
