{"id":3831,"date":"2008-01-12T10:53:48","date_gmt":"2008-01-12T09:53:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.killuglyradio.com\/hot-poop\/2008\/01\/12\/petition-aggressive-action-by-the-zft"},"modified":"2008-01-14T19:38:14","modified_gmt":"2008-01-14T18:38:14","slug":"petition-aggressive-action-by-the-zft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.killuglyradio.com\/hot-poop\/2008\/01\/12\/petition-aggressive-action-by-the-zft","title":{"rendered":"Petition: Aggressive Action by the ZFT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.petitiononline.com\/ZFT\/\">read it<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nWe the undersigned petition the Zappa Family Trust (ZFT) to cease and desist from making threats of legal action against FZ tribute bands, FZ fan sites, Zappa music festivals and other related activities that are designed first and foremost to honour and promote Frank\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s music, despite not being \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcapproved\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 by the ZFT.<br \/>\nWhile we applaud the work that the ZFT has done \u00e2\u20ac\u201c especially in recent years, with the Zappa Plays Zappa tours and the release of CDs &#038; DVDs such as Buffalo, Wazoo and Baby Snakes \u00e2\u20ac\u201c we do not see those threatened by the ZFT as being in any way detrimental to Frank\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s legacy. Indeed, while recognising that there truly can be no real substitute, we perceive any attempt to curb such alternative activities will be more likely to have a detrimental impact on the legacy.<br \/>\nWe consider that the ZFT would be better targeting those who produce and sell Zappa bootleg recordings and pirate memorabilia \u00e2\u20ac\u201c of which there are a numerous examples on the Internet.
