It&#8217;s really become one of my favorite movies &#8212; quaint, funny, slightly surreal and featuring an excellent <a href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/name\/nm0316079\/\">Paul Giamatti<\/a> as <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Harvey_Pekar\">Harvey Pekar<\/a> who, as it turns out, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harveypekar.com\/\">has a blog<\/a> (last updated October 28 &#8217;03!). In the film there&#8217;s some footage of Pekar on the David Letterman show, where he appeared several times, and was generally treated as an amusing freakazoid weirdo. Might YouTube have a clip? <a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=iBr4NxujLvw\">Sure enough<\/a>, and in it Letterman&#8217;s being an ass:<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"350\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/iBr4NxujLvw\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/iBr4NxujLvw\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=5ILENG3mePw\">Bonus clip<\/a> from the movie: Toby explains the importance of the 80s comedy &#8220;Revenge Of The Nerds&#8221; to Harvey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday we watched American Splendor once again (previous reportage here).
