Though Cassavetes allowed and even encouraged his actors to <em>ad lib <\/em>while filming, only very rarely, she says, were entire scenes filmed as they were being improvised. Rather, Rowlands reports, the actors would improvise from Cassavetes&#8217; scripts during rehersals, then Cassavetes would rewrite scenes based on the improvisations.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Really familiar way of creating, don&#8217;t you think? I just love this man, I think he&#8217;s one of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Cassavetes\">best directors of the XXth century<\/a>. I&#8217;m lucky enough to have <a href=\"http:\/\/index.hu\/kultur\/cinematrix\/?main&#038;filmid=18515\">five of his movies <\/a>&#8211; unfortunately <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0065867\/\">Husbands<\/a> (my favourite) is not available here yet.
