Thank you, Gilles! But: Where are the last three tracks of this tape, GenteelAssholeWhipping?
October 26th, 2007 at 3:51 pm »
Ahh, yes. Is there anything more refreshing than a genteel asshole whipping?

Maybe an hour on the tower of power?

Despite the missing encore, this is a very good audience tape of Frank’s best band.
I adore the 1981 band! There is just so much to listen to: The Vai, Mars, Mann interplay on some of the classical tunes like Footwear, Easy Meat, Drowning Witch . Baltimore and Moggio is unbelievable, the same goes for the rythym-section! And there are some great soloing as well.. On top of that we get great vocals from Ray and Bobby.
Did I say I really enjoy listening to the 1981 band? I Love the 1981 band! Even the YAWYI songs! Scott can get really brutal with the bass on the MuddMeekSuicideJumbo parts as can be heard on the Ritz concert (17. Nov. 1981)
Thank you for this boot , Mr. Gilles! Thank you very much!

After the day I’ve had at work, it’s good to hear the ’81 Zappa band in flight. NOW I feel better!

What about a DVD of the Fall ’80 band or this one (apart from ‘Dub Room..’ of course!)?

Just listened to Zoot Allures from this boot. I can tell the rest of this show is gonna kick ass! Take it away Frank!

There are times when audience recordings capture the spirit of a gig way more than a professional recording could. This left me feeling totally exhilarated. The reaction of the audience when Frank walks on gives me goosebumps! I love it when the girl says “asshole!” just before Montana…and I love the “Tiny Horse” melody played by Steve…and Zappa’s guitar tone…and the whole chunk of music from Drowning Witch to the end. This certainly was not the Rolling Stones concert thank God.
Thanks!!!
