Thinness seems unavoidable with a piece one's used to hearing from a bigger ensemble - but it still did ROCK. The end's sweet too - still funny to see a classical-type group playing - then be hearing the audience go straight-up batshit like that, hmm? In other respects, they were not up to the task; sloppy at times (you can hear that on the middle section here - although I, of course, have plenty of understanding for the string players), flat solos, limpid vamps, ensemble were too thin, and the like. Jeffrey Milarsky's chamber orchestra was rather more of a treat, but the real gem of the evening was the string quintet!
