Pretentious? Moi?
Some good reads in this Zappa appreciation thread. Noteworthy quote from one DonkeyRhubarb: “Has anyone thought about what it is that is exactly wrong with being pretentious? Giantes??? it must be Gitanes… (this classic french cigarette brand will instantly ruin your lungs after one puff)…

Oh, yea? I like Gitanes. They are mild and have a great flavor, in my opinion. Plus the pack is cool to look at.
I smoke them occasionally, but I don’t smoke them to be pretentious or better than thou.
Pretention is for sissy-boys and panty waists
and prancy little fancy little girlie-boys.
I dunno, maybe not.
