I just read the Zappology essay on
FZMTMOP. While I was impressed with
the author’s description of the music overall,
I was kinda sketchy on some of the explanations of lyrical references.
For example, in Yo Cats, the “watch your watch…etc” line seems to describe that
some studio musicians want to get overtime
by playing “a little flat”. “Make the session go overtime”. That’s fairly self-explanatory.
The author missed that easy one.
But, hey! I’m not complaining. It was free.
