As far as I know, ZappaBlog is the second FZ-focused weblog ever on the web. (While tooting my ego-horn, I think it’s safe to say HotPoop was the first). Good to see ZappaBlog is using Movable Type’s excellent blogtool.

Zappa is a virus! You know it, I know it, and now the rest of the world is going to find out as well.

Donald Roller Wilson, who in the past did some rather bizarre dog-featured art work for FZ, has a pretty neat site.

It’s that time of the month again where I link to a silly Personality Test: the color quiz. Apparently, I am Aqua. Quote: “You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation.” Hey! You! Isn’t it FUCKING GREAT to be alive? ![]()

You can say what you want about the Sixties but looking at these pictures, it’s hard to say I wouldn’t have wanted to be part of it. The chicks man! The free love!

Friday was a day for good spirits in the world of zappa, even before the days of the friday boot. These tales of friday nights at chez zappa, have a melancholic uplifting quality. One thing though, are these two quotes as they seem, ‘… I still kick myself for not having brought a tape recorder. It was the night that filmmaker Leonard Shrader stopped in.’ - ‘… It was, in fact, the night of the great talk with director Shrader… I readied my tape recorder.’ I guess it’s just another enigma from LA…

Be sure not to miss this next Friday: “Jez Nelson presents a specially recorded studio session from some of the “dazzling improvisors” that were instrumental in creating Zappa’s music. Recorded in Los Angeles in November, the group reunites some of Zappa’s finest sidemen, including the legendary drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, the Fowler brothers, Walt and Bruce, on brass, bassist Arthur Barrow, and keyboard player Tommy Mars, amongst others.”

“Mr Meiwes told investigators he took Mr Brandes back to his home, where Mr Brandes agreed to have his penis cut off, which Mr Meiwes then flambéed and served up to eat together.”
