Highly reliable sources have identified the guitar Zappa is playing in the picture from his graduation book, in 1958: it’s a Supro Dual Tone, manufactured by Valco in the ’50s. Oh, and the picture of the Blackouts that is in The Real FZ book (pag 45), well it doesn’t feature Frank!, apparently that’s Ronnie Williams. Here’s another pic with both, Ronnie with the Telecaster and behind him, Frank with the Jazzmaster. I knew you could not have a good weekend without knowing this! (Thanks Old Zircon from zappa-es yahoogroups)

From projectobject.com: “(…) Despite all the slings and arrows, lawsuits and attacks, bad reviews and right wing abuse, we will keep going - focused on one request: ‘..If you’re a musician, play my music. Even if you’re not a musician, play my music’ - FZ 1993.” Right on. Then again, maybe FZ meant “play my CD’s” when he went “play my music”…?

Ensemble Modern to release “Greggery Peccary & Other Persuasions” on November 17: “(…) the EM presents some of the most original and provocative compositions with which Frank Zappa surprised his fans. The Ensemble Modern, Zappa’s “last band”, may still be called an authentic Zappa ensemble, since more than half of the members who recorded this CD also participated in the legendary “Yellow Shark” project”. Hurrah! Only 39,2% on this 80’s music quiz. I’m so glad my memories of that ghastly decade are rapidly fading.

Apparently a very sought after boot, this one! The number of downloads was such that we’ve had to take it offline for now (we’re already in for $20 as it is). But not to worry: it’ll be back up on Tuesday Nov. 11, remaining available until next Friday. Once again, if you like what we’re doing, please consider donating a few bucks so we can keep the Friday Boot affordable…

If you’d noticed i wasn’t creating, clearing or questioning your spiritual clouds, then it’s because there’s been an overtime situation in my regular office work. But now that’s finished, there’s time for kur tasks, should i see any i think i can help with. So the lso concerts, which i thoroughly enjoy, are renowned for the musicians making fz unhappy. But as to why ? Apart from wanting some legal drugs, apparently they weren’t too happy about the overtime situation. Well, i can understand that.
