Yearn for Learn
« on: November 18, 2004, 02:16:32 AM »

I have been listening to Zappa's music for years now but recently realised how little I actually know about the man himself and the Mothers of Invetion. As someone who is keen to always gain more knowledge (especially on such brilliant artists) I was wondering if people colud reply with a fact or two on Zappa or The Mothers that might be less know and or interesting/unusual in some way.

Much appreciated.

Hi Marqueson's Chicken,
Well, there are quite a few of those!... "What" do you know?... ;O)
Maybe there is something specific I might be able to shine a bit of light on. Although there are still big holes in my knowledge, I did read a few of the books and lots of interviews in the past. I have most of the records, as well as the Baby Snakes full version, Dubroom Special, and Does Humour Belong in Music? videos. And I have seen Zappa in concert four times, all in Montreal ('76, '78, '80 and '81).

Welcome to the forums, Marqueson's Chicken!

I for one, am fascinated by Bob Dylan's visit to the Zappa home. To think that both of them had a mutual respect toward eachother, even though their musical style was as disparate as it gets. If Zappa and Dylan Be Jammin' in Heaven...

Sure but he's turned to catholicism some years back. I have it from good sources that these people have a direct hotline with The Guy Upstairs.
