Trading Boots?
« on: April 04, 2002, 07:40:12 AM »

Hey, how does one get into boot trading if he doesn't have any to trade? Especially videos.....I'm looking for FZ on Crossfire in 85. I might have an old pair of boots in my closet if anyone wants 'em?  Wink

Who are you?
I live here.
I live here.
That's my name too.
Were you ever not living here?
I don't think so.

One doesn't...
Okay, that's not 100% true. Some traders will accept supplies in exchange for your demand. For example, you send 2 or 3 blank tapes to the trader in return for a tape that you seek.

Especially videos...
If you check the thread at Strictly Critique with the subject "Video boots", you'll find the email of someone who deals in the product - tho' I believe they're for sale and not for trade. But it may be worth persuing, if you're looking for something specific, and don't mind paying for it.

Without the legs, they're pretty much worthless.

Probably the easiest way to get started with bootlegs is through usenet. If you have a fast internet connection and access to a good news server, you can build up a stockpile of concert bootlegs pretty quickly.

On the newsgroup alt.binaries.zappafiles you can find a bunch of complete concerts ripped to MP3. Most sound pretty horrid, of course; but that's the nature of bootlegs.

If you don't know how to access usenet, check with your ISP or do a Google search. It's a big can o' worms, but it's worth figuring out how to open it....
