Writing a collaborative book on FZ is, in my opinion, close to impossible. It's my experience that each and every FZ fan has his/her own reason(s) for appreciating the man and the music, and more often than not, they differ greatly. Barry @ the Wiki ( http://wiki.killuglyradio.com/index.php/Talk:Album_Grouping): Ideally, for an anonymous visitor, I would like there to be as little as possible "personality" present in (or in the way of) the articles. You're forgetting that any "visitor" is a potential "editor"... obfuscating the links like that may be confusing for anyone having to edit a page without knowing what a "piped link" is. So we should leave all wiki code littering the pages so that any future visitor/editor could pick them up without having to go and find out for themselves? emdebe @ the Wiki ( http://wiki.killuglyradio.com/index.php/Talk:Album_Grouping): I'm not into this for the "anonymous visitor"... I'm into this for the amusement of people who already enjoy Zappa music - it is NOT for intellectuals or other dead people... (as you may notice, these are not at all my words...) I repeat: I'm not into this for the "anonymous visitor"... I'm into this for the amusement of people who already enjoy Zappa music...

I'm into this for the amusement of people who already enjoy Zappa music... I have no problem with that but don't make it a policy. I admit, my earlier comment about "as little as possible personality in the articles" was over the top, ill-conceived, you're right about that. On the other side of the spectrum though, we could end up with - the kind of proze that is full of "inside jokes/remarks" (meaning, you need to already know a fair deal of FZ) - this would probably turn off curious-but-not-yet-FZ-fans - obscure "but they're funny!" article-titles which only make it harder to find anything. - articles that are overflowing with personal opinion/bias. again, the wiki is not the place for that. I think what we're looking for here is a middleground...

Both, I would think. You don't have a check-box for that.

There are 364 members in the Kur Forum and 31 registered users in the Wiki Jawaka... and what we have here is a whopping 4 (four!) votes... As I said before: where are all the other Freaks & Motherf*#@%! when you need them?

Both, Emdebe. I think we've resolved this. Hardly... But hey, I don't want to spoil your party!

You've used the word "ultimate" in conjunction with this project. This would mean there's information for both newcomers and old listeners. Others have made similar comments. I think you've gotten bored and you're just looking for complications.

When I look at the number of people who actually voted on this (and Barry probably voted 3 times ), I must conclude that we’re not in this for the anonymous visitor, we’re not in this for the FZ fan, … apparently we’re only in for ourselves…

Ever wonder why out of the 300+ KUR forum members, only 4 decided to vote emdebe? My guess is that it's because you're pushing this thing to realms of meta-talk that are way beyond the fringe of a Zappa wiki. And in doing so, I might add, I think we're losing potential contributors. You scare the hell out of anyone wanting to contribute with the way you assert that every single word/syllable needs a democratically elected commity to vote on said single word/syllable.
By the way: I voted once.
