...That bittorrent voodoo is a bit of an enigma, I agree. I've been okay downloading bittorrents, but ... Tried it and you're right, Bittorrent is voodoo, messed around my WinXP (or maybe I did not have the patience to read all related documentation). I had the impression that working with Bittorrent makes working with KazaA(lite when I was still using it) easy-peasey.
And a second no-no for me was that most torrents were offered by 'audio quality lovers', yes, in flac format (ever listened to a B-/C quality show in flac and MP3 format?, both sound awfull).
...Do we have a bittorrent guru in the building?... Capital idea, perhaps this guru would be so kind to enlighten us, poor stupid souls, on the dark secrets that lie beyond the Bittorrent client (or direct us to a good quality FAQ page ).

I did not know Frank was a painter until I stumbled upon these sites:
The Black Page Original oil painting by Frank Zappa. 5 ft-4 inch x 24-inch painting on rigid pressboard, entitled "Horny." It was signed by the artist and dated 1961. It hung in his rehearsal studio in Hollywood during the mid-to-late 1960s.
The painting illustrates Frank's take on the difference between the male and female, musically speaking, of course. Can you pick out the male and female instruments?
Wanna give it a go?, here's the painting
Donlope: Antiques Roadshow 1999
Are you familiar with the public tv show called antiques roadshow? in it, a bunch of appraisers go around to different cities and people bring them their antiques and collectables to find out about them and get a value. last night (3-22) the show was in Rochester, NY, and a woman had an FZ painting. Did not get her name, said she was a friend of the family (had double-dated with FZ) and that when the Zappas were packing up and moving she asked if she could have the painting. FZ said sure. Apparently he painted it while in junior college.

The Zappathon now on its way to Bobo... (Enjoy the cuttin'...) Question: Does applying musiCutter mean that the actual MP3-file you're applying it on stays in one piece and you just get an extra file with the "Cue sheets" sort of attached to the MP3-file? Thanks for explaining.
sharleena-be >> vrnzr-be >> bobo-be >> balint-hu >> ive-be
MusiCutter uses a cue sheet to cut up the large MP3 files into separate sections (songs,...). The cue sheet is a kind of timesheet the software uses to cut the music. More explained with this link to cue sheets, a tutorial for dummies (no offence) or this link to the cuemaster homepage |

Missed this completly, so much appericated Sharleena for offering this.
As for VRNZR, I don't mind big chuncks or small slices. A suggestion for cutting the chuncks, somebody could go through the effort of cutting the stuff, thus creating a cut list or CUE sheet. Apps like musiCutter use these CUE sheets to cut the MP3 into smaller sections, so everybody using the CUE sheet gets the same set of cut MP3's.
...It's a humungous show (12 hours) plenty of good/rare stuff,... So cutting the stuff would also be a humungous task, taking some time to complete...I wouldn't mind giving it a go, one CD at a time, offering cue sheets later on for those that prefer sliced music. Perhaps there's a second volunteers for CD2 (speed up things)?

Found a nifty little app called Zappabase at the Zappateers website. Took me some time to get it running (I was in need of a new version of Microsoft .net, phew).
Based on my own very brief expierience, this looks to be A class stuff. So, I was wondering if any of you KUR guys & girls worked with it, willing to share the expirience... |

On the 'legit' side:
Limiting vines to concert boots is probably the purest way to do vines. The historic aspect of these recording plus the fact that almost nothing is/was legally commercially available are arguments in favour of vining. Expanding vines to material released from an 'official' record company (no booters) can mean trouble. But I think nobody can prevent you from discussing this kind of offers in 'private' |
