Cannot use an & in a page title

Visiting the page truncates the title and shows a blank page.

This is a problem with your rewrite rules. Apache unescapes the string, including the ampersand, so when you place it into the query string it counts as two separate parameters.
To avoid this you can:
1) Use an Alias directive instead of mod_rewrite; this is the simplest in most cases.
2) Use the ampescape patch to Apache (in maintenance/) to add a rewrite modifier function which can properly re-escape the ampersand.

I guess that would qualify as a solution, no?

Google is not exactly my friend. OK, it gives me a zillion pages to choose from, but it doesn't say me anything I want to hear: a good, objective opinion about what site to go for. I don't want ads, I don't want slow performance, I don't want entering the site to be like playing Russian Roulette, ... you get the idea: I want everything for nothing.   

So, where are all these humans, who surely must have an opinion?
