1  Frank Zappa / Strictly Critique / Re: all time best "rock and roll" songs of FZ on: October 10, 2007, 01:54:06 PM
What do they mean by "Rock and Roll"?

I find it reassuring that I have never heard half the songs listed here - and I have no desire to do so  Smiley

So what do we get with the update - apart from the spambot thing - are there any particularly exciting new features we should know about?

This is what I get...

It works for me.  What does not work?

Cannot use an & in a page title

Visiting the page truncates the title and shows a blank page.
Brion replied:
This is a problem with your rewrite rules. Apache unescapes the string, including the ampersand, so when you place it into the query string it counts as two separate parameters.
To avoid this you can:
1) Use an Alias directive instead of mod_rewrite; this is the simplest in most cases.
2) Use the ampescape patch to Apache (in maintenance/) to add a rewrite modifier function which can properly re-escape the ampersand.

Any help to us?

I assumed the poodle logo was an early version - poodle looking out of page rather than into  as before.  I am off to explore and see if it was worth the effort  Wink

I guess that would qualify as a solution, no?

Yeah!  Go for it!

But why?  What is the point of it?  They are obviously unaware of the low volume of contributions so they will be spotted and reverted straight away.

1.4.2!!!  Wikipedia (now at 1.11.0) uses a CAPTCHA for registration and before you can save an article with a web link within the text.

One day all upgrades will come with a Revert button  Wink

10  The White Zone / No Commercial Potential / Re: Liborio's Garage shows on: July 17, 2007, 02:43:16 AM
As far as I can see (with these ageing eyes) the only "shows" not listed are Los Angeles March 22/24 1982 which Liborio's Garage has listed as rehearsals  and the 1981 UMRK which are possibly also rehearsals - but being 1980's stuff I have not bothered to listen to any of them   Grin

Are there any others that you were concerned about?

Unable to find any reference to Zappa and pigeons but I did find my kind of girl  Grin

My first love was Zappa the cat, named after his highness Frank. My second is my dad's vinyl collection.

Sounds very strange.  They deliver to Europe without any problems so I do not see why the Netherlands should be a singled out as a problem for them.  Is it a regular Visa/MasterCard type card or something obscure?

13  Frank Zappa / Zappa Wiki Jawaka / Re: A Personal Wiki on: May 08, 2007, 11:43:40 AM

Google is not exactly my friend. OK, it gives me a zillion pages to choose from, but it doesn't say me anything I want to hear: a good, objective opinion about what site to go for. I don't want ads, I don't want slow performance, I don't want entering the site to be like playing Russian Roulette, ... you get the idea: I want everything for nothing.   Wink

So, where are all these humans, who surely must have an opinion?

So define your search more accurately and use Firefox with the Customize Google add on ;-)

Why would I want an Apple server?

Sorry - I do not understand the question  Grin
14  Frank Zappa / Zappa Wiki Jawaka / Re: A Personal Wiki on: May 08, 2007, 12:39:19 AM
perhaps PB Wiki.

Yes an Apple is always the answer  Smiley  The next version of the Mac Server OS (Leopard) will have Wiki stuff built in.

The label says...

will that be enough to find you   Cheesy
