The White Zone / The Phoebe Snow Chill Out Room / Re: Help needed: Abs Free + Man From Utopia

Thanks Jake St. Vitus - Barry already kindly helped me, so I did not come back here to ceck again, sorry!
*
Now I have another question: can anyone help me with the (good quality) scan of Absolutely Free and The Man From Utopia?
The exhibition during the Budapest Autumn Festival did not take place, because I refused to work together whith the grafic designer, the posters he made was totally ugly.
But now we decided to make an exhibitoon of our own, in December (an annyversary-type exhibition). For this I'd need the covers of the two albums above (front, back, inside...). So if anyone can help - I'd be so glad!
Thanks in advance!

Hi Bálint, Many potential contributors might share the same opinion as yours and then get discouraged. Let's hope we can find a solution very soon in order to help you (and other people) to edit. And most of all, I would be very happy to see you back here. C U soon
Thanks, Maroual - I'll see. :-)
emdebe:
We have gone through this many times before... Yes, I know - and still nothing changed. And its not the question of time - its the question of making things good. So (as I've mentioned before): the main thing (to me) is to get rid of the "skeleton pages"; a big "delete" work. But: the ones who made it are the ones who KNOW (hm.. I'm looking at you, emdebe...) which are those "skeleton pages", where are they, etc. So a big help would be to at least start this cleaning action - the deleting of the pages without content. The way I see it.
What do you think?
As about me: from here it seems to be an endless work... but if I see that at least SOMEONE has tarted it, it would be MUCH easier to join. |

I've not been visiting the Zappa Wiki Jawaka pages for months (years), and now have been looking for thing - but couldn't always find...
The way I see it it works as it worked before - and with which I really cannot do a thing. Full of "skeleton pages" with NO INFOS in them. The MAIN thing in the wiki-world is that if a link is red, there is no info behind it, if its blue, ther IS something there. I was glad to find things on the theme of the OSFA star map - and been very sad to find that there are NO INFOS for qiute a lot of things.
It is sad because this way I will continue not-using the wiki (as I did not use it for months), and I will HAVE TO continue not contributing it - simply because I do not understand the structure.
So: I think skeleton pages should be removed, filled with information, or whatever - this way it is just no good.
I've been talking about it before, but nothing changed. Okay, things don't have to go "my way", but this way I cannot contribute, I cannot use it. (But anyway, the correct usage f the wiki-structure is not "my way", I think. Its the "normal way".)
its a pity. |

The White Zone / The Phoebe Snow Chill Out Room / Help needed: One Size Fits All vynil cover!!! (star map)

Hi everyone,
I wonder if there's anyone out there who might help me. There's gonna be a 100% Zappa! festival (yes! yes! YES!!) here in Hungary in october, and there will be (hopefully) an exhibition made of the album covers. (With a few notes, of course)
My question/ request: is there anyone who owns the Big, the Vinyl Version of this album, AND would be so kind to make a REAL GOOD, hi-quality scan about the Star Map on that album? I would be grateful, and happy, and so on!!!!
Well, a scan of the front and all the other sides would be great, too, but the main thing is the OSFA STAR MAP.
this is it - only its a low-res, tiny version:

Thank you all!!!

hey, I've found this:
Sound rating The sound is graded A, B, or C, often with a plus or minus. Many people prefer the EX/VG/G system, which is basically the same thing (A=EX etc.). A loose attempt at translating it into words might look something like:
A+ About as good as an official release, probably mixed for radio, etc. A Perfect audience or low-generation soundboard recording. A- Very enjoyable listening. B+ Quite good audience, or somewhat flawed soundboard recording. B Listenable. B-/C+ May be irritating. C/C- Not recommended.

| Okay, some wackermanish stuff would be nice, too: Moggio is my alltime favourite, when I hear the live version, I simply cannot believe they can make it - especially rhytmically. Alien Orifice - well, yes. |

You should not leave out T'Mershi Duween, and maybe Dog/Meat from YCDTOSA vol 2 (there ares ome even better versions on some bootlegs - FZ himself playing drums in the latter!), and you should definitely check out Big Swifty from YCDTOSA vol 1., from the Roxy show '73, with 2 drummers. Just listen to the groove of it, th sudden changes in tempo and rhythm - etc.
And: Chunga Basement with Aysley Dunbar on it.
and: I simply adore Vinnie Colaiuta's drum fills and sensitive and exciting playing on Shut Up And Play Yer Guitar. |
