The White Zone / The Phoebe Snow Chill Out Room / Deleted user accounts

I have deleted a number of user accounts. Mostly fishy user names... If your account was deleted by mistake, well sorry. Sign up again and this time, think twice about your username. For instance, "viagraforyou" will not cut it. Just a friendly hint. |

Frank Zappa / Zappa Wiki Jawaka / Frank Zappa - The Wiki
|
on: March 12, 2005, 07:34:42 AM

Welcome to the "Frank Zappa Wiki" discussion board.
For more information on how this forum came to be, please read this thread first. In short, there had been some talk about the "ultimate" online Frank Zappa resource. The main argument for such a thing was that, although there is a wealth of information on FZ available on the net, it is scattered, fragmented, at times hard to track down, sometimes outdated. What if we could somehow centralize all this information?
Enter the wiki.
The setup is similar to wikipedia. The wiki-format allows for anyone to add/edit information, with moderators keeping an overview of added information.
At this time of writing, the wiki is still in an embryonic state. Before we plunge into adding stuff, we need discussion with regard to the strucure of the wiki. For now, that type of discussion can take place here. In a later stadium, this will be the place to discuss specific pages of the wiki.
With your help, we can make the Frank Zappa Wiki into a thing of excellence. Feel free to join in on the discussion. Your remarks, criticism, suggestions are highly appreciated.
Help build the greatest available online FZ resource! |

Yes, I Admit that I posted a stupid picture, but it is my right, under the Constitution to say stupid things, or post stupid pictures to weblogs. ... and with that elusive last little statement we say goodbye to our former attention seeking HouseTroll. This topic is now locked, and our 13 year old SuperIntellect can start looking for another forum/weblog to post in. After all: it is his constitutional right. Right? |

This board has been created following this thread from a while back.
What is it about? It is about letting as much people as possible enjoy the wide range of Zappa boots. This endeavour is, of course, strictly non-commercial, and no money will be made by any parties involved in it.
How does it work? Any person, member of the KUR forums, may start a "vine", i.e. offer up a bootleg, here at the board. Other members interested in getting that boot then "sign up" by responding to the original post. As more people respond, we get a natural chain by which the original boot gets spreaded via snail mail. Each person that signs in on a boot is implicitely obligated to send on the boot to the person that signed up after him, and so forth. This naturally implies that all subscribers to a boot must have the ability to burn a CD! For the vine to work, we will need VALID email-adresses, so that person X who just received a boot can request person Y for his full address to pass it on.
In a future post I will list those boardmembers who have graciously volunteered as "hubs" for the spreading of the boots. Watch for that in the near future.
Have fun spreading the music! |

| Sadly, it is my duty to inform you that Frankie will no longer be taking any requests from the residents of this forum. It was good while it lasted, but you know what they say: shit happens. Frankie: thanks for the good times, I know I speak for all when I say your posts were much appreciated. |

Frank Zappa / In-A-Gadda-Stravinsky / Re:Your Zappa Collection

| The deal is obvious: this is not AFFZ, this forum is moderated. I'm a tolerant person and I resolve to shutting my mouth most of the time, but my tolerance only goes so far. The minute anyone starts to insult people, calling them names, they risk getting kicked out. I reserve the right to do this quite simply because I pay for the whole damn shebang, and because no one benifits from "fuck you fuckhead" posts . Play kind, share your insights/opinions; at the same time have some respect for other opinions. Enter in dialogue, not monologue. I take it we are all fans, let's behave accordingly. |

Frank Zappa / Strictly Critique / No More Guest Posting
|
on: April 08, 2003, 11:19:53 AM
|
Hi folks. Following a couple of rather annoying "Guest" posts recently, I've decided to allow only members (that is: people who have registered with these forums) to post anything. We don't want this to turn into affz, now do we?
Thought you'd agree.
End of service announcement... |

| Once again, a member suggestion leads to the birth of a new forum. In-A-Gadda-Stravinsky will focus on Frank Zappa's music - not the lyrics, not the "what does it mean" question, but the "how is it played/composed/referring to other composers" angle. Gentlemen: start your posting! |

Frank Zappa / The Blue Light / The Blue Light
|
on: December 10, 2002, 03:05:12 PM
|
| Just to show how dedicated we are to our posting members, following this thread http://www.killuglyradio.com/discuss/index.php?board=4;action=display;threadid=162;start=0 ,KillUglyRadio Staff decided to add a new board to the forums, dedicated to shedding some light on Frank Zappa's, at times, obscure lyrics (yes: I'm a master at understating things). It is called The Blue Light because, due to popular request, the first lyric to be tackled IS The Blue Light. So have at it, and enjoy. |

The White Zone / Ugly Radio / Let's Hear Your Ugly Radio
|
on: August 07, 2002, 04:31:24 PM
|
Welcome to Ugly Radio. The idea to create this board grew out of the following Hot Poop post: http://www.killuglyradio.com/hotpoop/archives/000682.php Here, basically, you just talk about music that you find ugly, terribly annoying, stupid and/or silly. The underlying premise is that ugly music can, however, be beautiful, in its own peculiar way. I give you for instance AbbA, and the Carpenters (yes, I have mp3's of SuperTrooper and Close To You on my hard disk. So sue me!) The gates are open folks. Tell us what you hate musically and perhaps, love at the same time. Perhaps we can all learn from it. |

I noticed you can't post until you register. Tryin' to keep the transients out?
Aaah, good point DebK! Guest Posting has now been re-established. Nevertheless I would ask all Guest posters to register anyway. It's free, it's guaranteed spam-free, no strings attached, and it helps us all get to know eachother a little better... |
