Ronson, o yes, mustn't forget him, and that other seventies guy - Paul Kossoff. I have worn out his Backstreet Crawler album, so I was quite pleased when it got the Deluxe Edition treatment.

I'll second Neil Young -- he establishes in two notes what your regular guitar shredder wannabe fails to accomplish with, oh, some 1000 plus meticulously arpeggio'ed twiddly-doodles.

Also: Mick Ronson?
I’m sure there are many more guitarists that I omitted besides Jeff Beck. Who else? Pete Townshend, Rory Gallagher…
Duane Allman, Keef, the master of the one-and-a-half-note-it's-all-one-song Neil Young, and Warren Haynes.
I pretty much agree with your list of the real thing guitarists. Of course, there are others but one serious omission from your list is Jeff Beck - a true original.

I also agree with your attitude towards Bernard.

Congratulations, bernard. It took you exactly one post (maybe two) to once again highjack the topic of a KUR post (electric guitarists) and use it as your own personal soapbox for your current interests. I've had it. You've been given chance after chance to change your behavior. Consider this my last on-line communication with you.

My dear Urban, musical (& air players) history didn' start in -let's say - 1950, ie in the middle of the 20th century. They just re- invented things another way.

There are historical testimonies 'bout ordinary pepole dancing & freely "body performing " on ... sounds produced by the municipal carillon ( = the non -religious, civic public instrument music in the 15 & 16th century ) over here.
And it happened very close to the place where Barry is now living: Ypres, Bruges, Ghent, etc.
The carillon was & still is a clumsy instrument. However it played the role as a live DJ, way back then. People danced & performed in the middle of the market place, getting inspired by the sounds made by the bells installed on top of their non - religious tower. Let's say : the civic center.

Slightly more sophisticated: Bruegel. People just to want to have fun. They're right. Cfr. the painting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fight_Between_Carnival_and_Lent .
A very good experience : imagine the sound of this madness. And yes add the grunt of the pigs, living in the middle of the street.

The more things change , the more they remain ...
Yes. Good to see that.
